Detailed Description

Precision CNC machined flanges are designed for mechanical connection, shaft support, sealing interfaces, equipment mounting and accurate component alignment. Typical products include mounting flanges, shaft flanges, bearing flanges, pipe connection flanges, motor flanges and custom equipment interface plates.

Aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel can be selected according to weight, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, pressure requirements and operating environment. CNC turning is commonly used to create concentric outer diameters, center bores, shoulders and sealing faces, while CNC milling can add bolt circles, slots, threaded holes and other secondary features.

For assemblies requiring accurate alignment, critical dimensions such as bore diameter, flange thickness, mounting-face flatness and bolt-hole position can be controlled during the same machining process. Turn-mill machining can also reduce repeated setups for flanges combining rotational geometry with complex side features.

Available Surface Finishes

  • As-Machined: Suitable for internal mechanical assemblies and general industrial applications.
  • Clear Anodizing: Improves corrosion resistance for aluminum flanges while retaining a metallic appearance.
  • Black Anodizing: Common for aluminum components used in machinery and automation systems.
  • Passivation: Improves corrosion resistance for stainless steel components.
  • Nickel Plating: Adds surface protection and improves corrosion resistance.
  • Black Oxide: Commonly applied to carbon steel components for additional surface protection.

Structural & Functional Breakdown

  • Precision Center Bores: Provide accurate alignment with shafts, bearings and mating components.
  • Flat Mounting Faces: Create stable reference surfaces for mechanical assembly.
  • Bolt-Hole Patterns: CNC-machined hole circles support accurate fastening and positioning.
  • Sealing Surfaces: Controlled machining helps improve gasket and sealing interface consistency.
  • Integrated Shoulders: Allow bearings, shafts or mating parts to locate accurately during assembly.

Key Features

  • Precision Bore Alignment: CNC turning maintains accurate relationships between center bores, shoulders and external diameters.
  • Accurate Mounting Faces: Controlled face machining provides stable reference surfaces for assembly and equipment positioning.
  • Custom Bolt Patterns: Bolt circles, threaded holes, slots and locating holes can be machined to customer drawings.
  • Integrated Sealing Features: Grooves, recesses and sealing surfaces can be incorporated for gaskets and mechanical interfaces.
  • Flexible Material Options: Aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel can be selected according to strength, weight and corrosion requirements.
  • Prototype & Batch Production: Suitable for one-off development parts, low-volume orders and repeat production.
