Nylon Nylon PA12 The scientific name of PA12 is poly and also called nylon 12. The basic raw material of its polymerization is butadiene, which can be relied on petrochemical industry. It is a semicrystalline and crystallization thermoplastic material. Its characteristics are similar with PA11, but the crystal structure is different. PA12 is a good electrical insulator and doesn't affect the insulation like other polyamides due to moisture. It has good chemical stability and stable impact resistance. Compared with PA6 and PA66, these materials have lower melting point and density, and the rate of moisture regain is very high. PA12 has no resistance to strong oxidizing acids. Typical applications of nylon 12: water tables and other commercial equipments, cable sets, mechanical cams, sliding mechanisms, photovoltaic panels and bearings, etc.
